Agriculture is a strong tool in addressing the menace of hunger and poverty in the society. Agriculture provides means by which rural and urban farming operations is practised without endangering the ecosystem to increasefood production. The paper identified and discussed the relevance of agricultural information for farmers to the present-day agricultural practices and operations in relation to continous sustenance of our livelihood without much hindrance to the environment. The study adopted descriptive survey research design. The population of the study comprised of 55 farmers which was randomly selected through simple random sampling techniques in Zaria Local Government, Kaduna State. The research methodology adopted is quantitative methodology. Self-constructed questionnaire was used to collect data from the respondents and analyzed using mean and standard deviation. Findings from the study showed that challenges encountered by Zaria Local Government Farmers includes lack of distribution channels of agricultural produce, Security concerns related to cybercrime, kidnapping, and ethnic clashes among communities, lack of agricultural innovations and minimal adoption of modern technology in agriculture, lack of awareness of applicable agriculture tools and information are some of the major challenges preventing Agriculture from taking its rightful place as the mainstay of Nigeria’s economy. Based on findings, the study recommends that agricultural education should be made compulsory and taught in their indigenous language for all farmers and provision of sustainable technologies to conserve and efficiently use of scarce water resources, control erosion, restore soil fertility to increase food promotion and promote of sustainable agriculture in Kaduna State, Nigeria.
